It seemed like there were more teachers from Wisconsin and Boston than almost all three of the metro region areas put together. Just imagine if only even a half of the DCPS workforce made a show. Still, I was very inspired by the event and I hope it is something to build on.AVParodihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04875792642302052800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2836584065506164163.post-58560127077575894012011-08-05T21:37:17.342-04:002011-08-05T21:37:17.342-04:00Great comments Rachel. I expect my son to learn everywhere even when schools out. I know that you will teach wherever you are. You are not taking a break from teaching, you are taking a break from the chaos so called ed reform has created in our schools. Keep up the good work.Karran Royalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00298170203053794151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2836584065506164163.post-24252008425340168512011-08-05T21:11:20.809-04:002011-08-05T21:11:20.809-04:00Ironic! I agree with you that many of us get too bogged down in the theoretical, without considering reality or practicality enough.Rachel Levyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06844728669493681943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2836584065506164163.post-56744767373698127372011-08-05T13:20:16.361-04:002011-08-05T13:20:16.361-04:00Great comments! I especially like what you have to say about a "healthy but realistic learning environment."<br /><br />I've long thought the root of the debate over public ed policy has been our inability to agree on what schools should do. It's funny though, because you almost never hear people argue over that. Instead they argue about ten layers above that, always seeming not to realize their disagreements are far more fundamental - if that makes any sense....james boutinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09625944306253098621noreply@blogger.com
